High-alumina insulating bricks are manufactured using high-quality sintered high-alumina bauxite as the primary raw material. They are formed using the foaming method or a process involving the addition of combustible additives, and then sintered at high temperatures. These products combine a high refractoriness with excellent thermal insulation properties, making them the material of choice for thermal insulation and energy conservation in the high-temperature zones of glass melting furnaces.
Key Features:
Combined Refractoriness and Thermal Insulation: With a high Al₂O₃ content, these bricks can withstand temperatures exceeding 1350°C while maintaining a low thermal conductivity, allowing them to be used directly as backing or working surfaces in medium- to high-temperature zones.
Low Thermal Conductivity and High Energy Efficiency: A uniform microporous structure effectively blocks heat conduction. The low thermal conductivity significantly reduces heat loss from the furnace surface, resulting in outstanding energy-saving performance.
Lightweight and High-Strength: Compared to ordinary insulating bricks, it offers higher compressive strength at room temperature. While lightweight, it can withstand certain masonry loads and is resistant to breakage.
Excellent Thermal Shock Resistance: Low bulk density and high porosity provide the product with the ability to buffer thermal stress, enabling it to withstand temperature fluctuations caused by furnace heating and cooling cycles as well as heat recovery chamber directional changes.
Precise Dimensions and Easy Installation: Standard bricks and custom-cut bricks can be provided according to drawings, facilitating easy masonry work. They can quickly adapt to the shape of the furnace body, shortening the construction cycle.
Applications:
Upper insulation layers of regenerative chambers in glass melting furnaces, backing for melting tank sidewalls, furnace bottom insulation layers, linings for high-temperature sections of flue ducts, inspection hatch covers, and other medium-to-high-temperature areas not in direct contact with molten glass. Suitable for thermal insulation and energy-saving masonry in float glass, bottle and jar glass, tableware glass, and specialty glass melting furnaces.
