High-alumina brick is a refractory material primarily manufactured from high-quality sintered bauxite through high-pressure molding and high-temperature sintering, typically possessing an Al₂O₃ content exceeding 48%. Characterized by high refractoriness, excellent high-temperature strength, and robust resistance to erosion and thermal shock, it is also an economical and practical choice. Consequently, it serves as a commonly utilized, cost-effective refractory material for medium-to-high temperature zones within glass melting furnaces—specifically in areas that do not come into direct contact with the molten glass, such as regenerator chambers (checkerwork and walls), flue linings, and furnace bottom insulation layers.

High-alumina bricks are manufactured primarily from high-quality sintered bauxite, formed under high pressure and sintered at high temperatures. Their Al₂O₃ content typically exceeds 48%. These products feature high refractoriness, excellent high-temperature strength, and good resistance to erosion, making them a common refractory material for the regenerative chambers, flue ducts, and insulation structures of glass melting furnaces.

Key Features:

High Refractoriness: With a high Al₂O₃ content, these bricks can operate at temperatures of 1450–1550°C, meeting the long-term service requirements for the upper layers of regenerators and high-temperature flue sections in glass melting furnaces.

High High-Temperature Strength: They maintain high mechanical strength at elevated temperatures, resisting deformation under pressure, making them suitable for applications such as the lower layers of regenerator grate structures and load-bearing walls.

Excellent Thermal Shock Resistance: Good thermal shock stability allows it to withstand the temperature fluctuations caused by periodic reversing in the regenerator, making it resistant to cracking and spalling.

High Chemical Stability: It exhibits good resistance to both acidic and alkaline furnace gases and dust, and is not easily eroded or pulverized within the regenerator.

Cost-Effective and Practical: Compared to electrically fused bricks, it offers lower costs and provides a high cost-performance ratio when used in medium-to-high-temperature zones that do not come into direct contact with molten glass.

Applications:

Glass melting furnace regenerator grids, regenerator walls, flue linings, chimneys, furnace bottom insulation layers, furnace door arches, and medium-to-high-temperature auxiliary areas not in direct contact with molten glass. Widely used in float glass, bottle and jar, tableware, and specialty glass melting furnaces.
