Sintered AZS bricks are shaped refractory products manufactured from electrofused zirconia-alumina particles and high-quality sintered bauxite clinker, formed under high pressure and sintered at high temperatures. Compared to electrofused cast AZS bricks, sintered AZS bricks offer lower costs while retaining the erosion resistance imparted by zirconia, making them a practical choice that balances performance and cost-effectiveness for non-critical erosion zones in glass melting furnaces.
Key Features:
Excellent erosion resistance: The incorporated ZrO₂ forms localized erosion-resistant barriers within the brick body, providing good resistance to glass dust and alkaline vapors.
Outstanding Thermal Shock Resistance: The sintering process imparts a uniform microporous structure to the brick body, effectively buffering stresses caused by rapid temperature changes and adapting to the frequent directional changes in the regenerator.
Excellent Dimensional Stability: Mineral phase reactions are fully completed during high-temperature sintering, resulting in low linear shrinkage upon re-firing and ensuring reliable kiln sealing after installation.
Significant cost advantages: Compared to electrically fused AZS bricks, raw material and manufacturing costs are substantially reduced, significantly lowering the total construction cost of kilns in large non-contact areas.
Flexible and customizable specifications: Standard bricks and various special-shaped bricks can be produced according to drawings to meet the masonry requirements of different kiln types.
Applications:
Areas not in direct contact with molten glass and subject to minimal erosion, such as the walls of the regenerator in glass melting furnaces, the middle and lower layers of the regenerator grate, flue linings, insulation backing for furnace bottoms, and the outer sides of charging ports. Suitable for masonry in bottle and jar glass, tableware glass, and float glass melting furnaces.
