AZS charging port bricks are electrically fused zirconia-alumina shaped refractory bricks specifically designed for the charging port area of glass melting furnaces. This area is directly exposed to continuous scouring by cold batch materials, severe alkaline erosion, and extreme temperature fluctuations, placing extremely high demands on the bricks’ structural strength, erosion resistance, and thermal shock resistance.
Key Features:
Abrasion and Corrosion Resistance: When subjected to continuous scouring by highly corrosive batch materials such as soda ash and quartz sand, the high zirconia content of AZS forms a dense protective layer that effectively resists chemical corrosion and mechanical wear.
Thermal Shock Resistance and No Spalling: Given the frequent temperature fluctuations at the charging port, AZS’s low thermal expansion and uniform crystalline structure ensure that the bricks do not crack or spall under rapid cooling and heating conditions.
Monolithic Construction for Structural Stability: Complex shapes such as feed port corners and chutes are precision-machined after monolithic casting, eliminating weak joints and preventing batch leakage or brick loosening.
Dense and Low-Contamination: The oxidation process controls glass phase leaching to an extremely low level, eliminating the risk of stone formation and bubbles in the feed section and protecting the purity of the subsequent glass melt.
Custom Design: We can customize feed port protection bricks, corner bricks, and chute bricks with various angles, wall thicknesses, and mounting interfaces based on the feeder model and furnace design.
Applications:
Side walls, corners, arch bases, and areas of the feed hopper directly in contact with batch material in glass melting furnaces (Doghouse). Suitable for bottle and jar glass, tableware glass, float glass, and specialty glass melting furnaces.
