Zirconia-mullite refractory mortar is formulated using zircon sand and high-quality mullite as the primary raw materials, with the addition of high-performance binders and composite additives. The product combines the erosion resistance of zirconia-based materials with the thermal shock resistance of mullite, offering high bonding strength at elevated temperatures. It is an ideal jointing material for the masonry of upper structures in glass melting furnaces.
Key Features:
Combined Resistance to Erosion and Thermal Shock: The zirconia component provides resistance to erosion from glass dust and alkaline vapors, while the mullite component imparts excellent thermal shock resistance, making it suitable for the operational conditions associated with heat exchanger reversals and furnace temperature cycling.
High Bond Strength: Exhibits excellent bonding strength with zirconia bricks, mullite bricks, corundum bricks, and high-alumina bricks. It maintains superior strength at room temperature and under medium-to-high temperatures, ensuring the overall stability of the masonry structure.
Good Thermal Expansion Coefficient Match: Its thermal expansion coefficient is compatible with that of zirconia-mullite bricks and mullite bricks. During furnace operation, the mortar joints expand and contract in sync with the bricks, preventing separation or delamination.
Dense and impermeable: The mortar is fine and uniform, fully filling the brick joints. After high-temperature sintering, it becomes densified, effectively preventing gas penetration and dust erosion.
Volumetric stability without shrinkage cracks: Low linear shrinkage during drying and sintering prevents cracking of the mortar layer and subsequent seal failure.
Smooth Application, Cost-Effective, and Practical: The consistency is adjustable, allowing for smooth application and excellent water retention. Compared to pure zirconia refractory mortar, it offers lower costs and outstanding value for money.
Applications:
Joints in masonry structures made of zirconia-mullite bricks, mullite bricks, corundum bricks, and high-alumina bricks in glass melting furnaces. Suitable for masonry in upper and middle-upper structures such as the upper part of the recuperator, breast walls, and front walls. Widely used in melting furnaces for float glass, bottle and jar glass, and tableware glass.
