Zircon bricks are manufactured from natural zircon sand (ZrSiO₄) as the primary raw material, formed under high pressure and sintered at high temperatures. These products offer exceptional resistance to glass melt erosion, excellent thermal shock stability, and a very low tendency to foam or form slag. They serve as high-end refractory materials for the flame chamber, upper structure, and critical areas in direct contact with the glass melt in glass melting furnaces.
Key Features:
Exceptional Resistance to Glass Melt Erosion: With a high ZrO₂ content, these bricks demonstrate outstanding resistance to erosion by sodium-calcium glass, borosilicate glass, and even high-alkali glass melts, far surpassing ordinary high-alumina bricks and clay bricks.
Excellent Thermal Shock Stability: Featuring a low coefficient of thermal expansion and a uniform crystal structure, these bricks do not crack or spall during furnace temperature cycling or fluctuations.
Ultra-low contamination: With extremely low impurity content, minimal glass phase leaching occurs at high temperatures, resulting in virtually no scaling or bubbling. This makes it an ideal choice for melting furnaces producing high-end glass (such as optical glass and solar glass).
High High-Temperature Strength: After sintering, a dense zircon crystal network forms, resulting in minimal deformation under long-term high-temperature loading. The load-bearing softening temperature can reach over 1650°C.
Suitable for Critical Areas: Can be safely used in certain demanding areas in direct contact with molten glass, as well as in load-bearing structures such as the furnace roof and breast walls.
Applications:
Large arches (kiln roofs), breast walls, front face walls, burner bricks, pool wall lining bricks near the liquid level line, feed channel cover plates, and critical areas of furnaces for specialty glass (such as borosilicate glass and high-alkali glass). Suitable for float glass, optical glass, solar glass, and specialty glass production lines.
